SURFACE PREPARATION
It is recommended to remove highly absorbent, dusty and loose layers from the lower stratum surface. Treat the cleared surface with GLIMS® PrimeГрунт. It is necessary to prime gypsum and limestone lower stratums twice and wait for complete drying out. Vertical surfaces with irregularities starting from 5 mm are recommended to be preliminarily (at least 24 hours earlier) leveled using the leveling stopping fillers GLIMS® StyroПрайм, GLIMS®Stukko-RF or GLIMS®Tweed plaster (minimum layer thickness is 10 mm). Horizontal surfaces with irregularities of 5 mm or more are recommended to be preliminarily (at least 24 hours earlier) leveled with GLIMS® poured floors.
MORTAR PREPARATION
Pour the dry mix into a reservoir with clean water at a rate of 0.23-0.24 l of water per 1 kg of dry mix (5,75-6 l per bag of 25 kg) and mix thoroughly with a mixer machine to even consistency. Keep the mortar for 5-10 minutes and mix it once more. The mortar is in working order for 4 hours after mixing. If during this time the mortar thickens in the reservoir, it is necessary to “revive” it by mixing without adding of water.
APPLICATION RECOMMENDATIONS
Apply the adhesive and level it with a notched trowel, no later than 20 minutes after applying the adhesive lay the tile on it. The fixing of most types of ceramic tiles and porcelain gres occurs almost instantly. When working with a large format or a heavy plate on vertical surfaces, to secure plate fixing it is necessary to hold it for several seconds. Correct the tile position on the surface within 15 minutes after gluing.
At material application and solidification the temperature of the lower stratum and the environment must not be from +5 to + 30°C. The mortar is applied to durable, dry, dust free lower stratums, the curing process of which is completed. Before applying it is forbidden to cover the surface with drying oil, soap, etc. It is possible to walk over glued tiles after 24 hours. The adhesive gains its ultimate strength after 28 days. The setting time increases at a thick adhesive layer application, low drying temperature or high humidity. While working it is necessary to observe the norms of SNiP and industrial hygiene. Additional recommendations: Joints grouting should be performed no earlier than after 24 hours. For tile joints grouting it is recommended to use GLIMS® Fuga waterproof grout. If it is necessary to create a waterproofing layer, before applying the adhesive, preliminarily treat the lower stratum with GLIMS® GreenResin or GLIMS® ВодоStop water isolation materials.
